Sharing everything we've been loving and enjoying this March, starting off with a very lovely comment from Mary Portas on our 5 year anniversary post!

Podcast: Mary Portas on Anita Roddick, Great Lives BBC Sounds

I was recently inspired by Mary Portas' Great Lives podcast about Anita Roddick, The Body Shop founder. Hearing Anita's daughter discuss her mother's legacy showed how motherhood and business can blend. Anita wasn't just the "Queen of Green" revolutionising ethical retail; she brought her nurturing spirit to business through workplace crèches and creating a family-like company culture.

Exhibition: Flowers - Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture

I recently visited the Saatchi Gallery where they're hosting "Flowers: Flora in Contemporary Art & Culture," and I found it absolutely captivating. The exhibition explores the enduring relationship between botanical beauty and artistic expression in ways I hadn't considered before.

The range of work on show was so diverse and demonstrated how much inspiration flowers have provided creatives of all disciplines. I would recommend visiting on a weekday if you can though - it was buseeee!

Book Spotlight: Wild Figs & Fennel by Letitia Clark

This gorgeous cookbook captures the essence of Italian cooking with recipes that celebrate each season's best ingredients. Just as the first tender spring greens are beginning to emerge, Clark's Mediterranean-inspired collection offers delightful recipes that transition us from winter's heartier fare to lighter spring cooking. Her Lemon Ricotta Soufflé Pancakes and Ricotta, Lemon and Herb-Stuffed Courgette Flowers feel like sunshine on a plate – exactly what we need as the days grow longer and brighter!

 Documentary: Birdsong, BBC

We were blown away by this short documentary about birdsong. Irish ornithologist Seán Ronayne’s mission is to record the sound of every bird species in Ireland - no mean feat and this is a wonderfully gentle watch that reminds you just how spectacular the natural world is. And you get to see baby Owls being weighed, what more could you want?

The Sounds of King’s Cross

Lovely Sarah from our shop is always full of brilliant recommendations and this one fits the bill. Composer and sound artist Alice Boyd has created a new and fascinating installation at King’s Cross. It weaves together natural sounds with the voices of the people who look after these special places - hearing the blend of wildlife and human sounds that create the unique soundtrack of the area. It's a chance to slow down and really listen to the city!

What have you been enjoying so far this Spring? We always love hearing from you!!
