Handmade Ceramic Mug

Stunning ceramic coffee or tea mug handmade just down the coast from Winter's Moon by Rebecca Williams. 

These handmade mugs are made from a toasted buff stoneware clay rolled out flat into slabs. Each mug shape is cut out by hand and formed into the body of the mug. The seam is left visible as part of the design. A circular shape is cut and added for the base and a strip of clay is cut, curved and added for the handle.

The ceramic mugs are fired in the kiln to 1000 degrees (the bisque fire) which dries and strengthens them sufficiently for it to be glazed. They are dip glazed in a matt vanilla glaze before fired again to 1250 degrees.

The process of using slabs of clay to create these mugs results in each mug having an irregular shape (rather than being perfectly circular), in turn giving each mug its own unique charm.

Each mug is individually crafted so no two are exactly alike and each much takes approximately 3/4 weeks to make from start to finish.

    Delivery & returns

    Delivery costs are £3.50 for UK mainland delivery on all orders, and are sent via Royal Mail on a Tracked 48 service. Except orders for greetings cards up to £20 which are £2.95 and sent Royal Mail 2nd Class.

    Orders over £50 are free of postage sent Royal Mail Tracked 48.

    Our 'Express' delivery cost is £7.50 & is sent via DPD on a 1-2 day service. We aim to despatch the next working day after the order date. Please note this service is not available to Islands & Highlands.
